i have TWO things to post for you today!  the first is for the Just Buggin Challenge that starts today – Challenge 28 is St Pat’s!  i decided to pull out my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and used a sketch from Page Maps:

i used a little studio g stamp for the shamrock clusters.  on the background i stamped with versamark.  on the darker strip i stamped with versamark, covered with heat n stick powder, heated it up and then covered them with studio G fine glitter – GORGEOUS and OH SO AFFORDABLE!  i have them in stock now and you get 24 little pots of colors for $6!!!!  the dark strip is punched with an EK Success border punch on both sides.

Rather thna cut out the little leprachaun paper doll i decided to just use 2 of his accessories as my focal point.  i knew i wanted them 3″ so i had to be sure an d hit the Real Dial Size button – otherwise they would hve been cut the size needed for a 3″ paper doll which would have been too small.

i inked the edges of the hat and usedViva Decor glitter liners in gold and hematite to accent both pieces.  i LOVE the dimension of these – not flat like usual!

i thought this little message was sweet – it is also a studio G stamp – LOVE these things!  i am NEVER without the perfect stamp no matter what i am doing!

i am going to send this to my mom i think 🙂

my next project is ALSO for a challenge!  I am sponsoring the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge this week and the prize is a $15 gift certificate to my store!  SO if you need those studio G items mentioned above or some other fun items be sure to enter the challenge for a chance to win!

here is my take on it – Clean & Simple:

the primas are from my stash & have been there for ages!  then i used a couple Martha Stewart punches and gave the whole thing a generous dose of Vanilla Breeze Smooch Spritz for MASSIVE sparkle!  (You can get 8 for the price of 7 right now at SCACD!)

Last i added a whole bunch of fun Yellow pearls using a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.  LOVE THESE!

today is laundry and house clean up day (did you hear that????  my hubby just breathed a sigh of relief!!!)

i have been filming videos and will have several fun new things to show you PLUS the SCACD new release on friday so be sure you don’t miss a day!!!!!!

thinking of spring in the snow….

here is what i woke up to:

i know most folks around here are not used to having so much snow so often but i LOVE it.  tough i admit it is even better now that i don’t have to go to work in it every day!

we don’t get enough snow to shut things down for a week but the way everyone freaks out around here you would think we DO!

now seriously isn’t that just BEAUTIFUL!!

and YES my drive is completely shoveled already as you can see in the first pic.  Pezzy the Wonder Tot, who did NOT nap yesterday, and DID NOT go straight to bed without a fight last night, was back up at 4:30 this morning.  dad & i both tried to put her back to sleep but no go.  so when daddy went out to get the snow off the truck to go to work we got dressed and went out to – it was 5:30 am!!!  she brought one of her big trucks out and played snow plow while i shoveled – the news said it would get slushy nd heavy fast today so i figured since we were up i would shovel while it was light & fluffy!  we have MORE coming this weekend so i think my CTMH party will likely get postponed WAHHHHHH!!!

while i was shoveling this past weekend one of my neighbors came out to do his drive.  so he starts up this big snow blower machine – the exhaust stunk up the whole area immediately – he is across the street and 2 houses down so that is a pretty wide area.  and i got to thinking about how it is the IN thing to be environmentally conscious and folks are talking about doing their part to help and getting cars with hybrid technology, etc.  and yet i look around my neighborhood and i cannot BELIEVE how many people have big  polluting gas sucking snowblowers and riding lawnmowers for NO reason.  the lots here are only 1/4 acre give or take – very little grass to actually mow.  and most driveways are 2 cars wide and less than 2 car lengths long.  ours is 3 cars wide and 2 car lengths long and it took me ONE hour to shovel it all, sidewalks and all.  seems such a waste to me……..and SO lazy……..

ok enough ranting from me!!!

for today’s card i used my friend melissa’s sketch over on tuesday morning sketches.  this is actually LAST week’s sketch.  if you want to check out this week’s sketch head over there and play along for a PRIZE!!

i threw this together from scraps so i am not completely sure what the patterned paper is but i THINK it is basic grey, maybe june bug…???  i cuttlebugged my card base and decided to leave it bare rather than ink it up like i usually do.  then i took my scrap of patterned paper and i realized one of the shades of microbeads in my MS set matched it perfectly.  SO i put a strip of scor tape across it and covered it in beads – i LOVE it!  a fun little touch for the card.  i inked the edges with memento bamboo leaves and my foam ink blending tool.  the flower is from petaloo and i finished off with a few of my exclusive green glittered skittles.

My main image is a digi i printed of a sketch i asked my mom to do for me from a design on my kitchen canisters 🙂  she did a set of three – two main images and a border type one – i just LOVE them!  i printed it on sketch paper and then colored with prisma pencils (no gamsol).  i added a bit of flower soft where the flowers were.

i’m glad i got the shoveling done because today is trev’s 17th bday so i have red velvet cake to make!  pezzy and i disagree over the final cake.  i want to do two layers – practice for that cricut cake coming my way in a couple months.  SHE wants only one layer because thats all she is familiar with i think…..

have a FUN day folks!!

i am sponsoring over at Tuesday Morning Sketches – the prize is a $15 gift certificate to my store!  with loads of stuff on clearance right now this could really go far!!!  she has a great sketch for everyone as usual!

i covered three challenges:

 Tues Morning sketches
Frosted Designs – eyelets
Daring Cardmakers – holes

and here is my card:

i am really pleased with how this turned out!  i may make another one to give to Mary (from spellbinders) when i see her at CHA.  the beautiful papers are from Close To My Heart – they really have some wonderful papers & stamps!  i am hosting a CTMH party for my friend cori on feb 7th so if you are in the area and would like to come play please let me know!!!!  i think you can even order online and help me boost my workshop total…

this card was so quick n easy – cut a few pieces with spellbinders borders and pendants, ink them, finish off with a few glittered skittles.  i cut the little tag from tags, bags, boxes and more on my cricut, stamped the sentiment and then added the eyelets using my crop a dile.  finished them off with some ribbon tied with waxed thread.

enough from me for today!!!

i am so excited to be the feature stamper over at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

My Sketch 13

Melissa has this fun sketch up for this week and as always – there is a prize up for grabs from Lindsay at Sassy Studio Designs!!

I had SO many ideas for this I may just have to make another one if I get time this week!

Here is mine:

This was SUCH a fun little card to do!  the patterned paper is one of my MOST favorite ones from SU.  I decided this was a perfect sketch to break out a just rite stamper set from my friend terri at Stampsalive – she always has great prices if you are looking for anything just rite, cuttlebug, cricut or spellbinders!  so on the top circle i used a border and a center sentiment piece.  then on the bottom circle i just used the border piece to frame my birds a bit.  i thought the side pieces would be great for little cricut border cuts – i edge my cuts with an ink blending foam tool – makes it quick and easy.

tuesAM close upthe larger bird is grungepaper – cuts nicely in the Cricut with the deep cut blade!  i embossed the grungepaper, painted it with a paint dabber, sanded lightly, rubbed on distress ink – ink only sticks where the paints is rubbed off by the sanding.  i gave them a little flower soft *dirt* to stand in and finished off with a machine stitched edging (thanks to DH for fixing my machine for me – he’s awesome!) and a row of glittered skittles where melissa had brad – looking things on her sketch – i gotta say the skittles really MADE the card.  wish i had taken before and after pics!

i SO need to use my cricut more like i used to!!  much cheaper addiction than stamping!

Quick quick post!  BARELY in time to show y’all my card for this week’s Tues AM challenge.  Melissa threw in a color challenge this week to see if we were paying attention!  The colors are certainly celery, elegant eggplant and kraft (or equivalents):

tues am sketches

I realyl designed this card around the crocheted border, pansy and leaf.  i did them to show someone in the All Things Tim group I am in and was really pleased with them and wanted to use them.  i thought bees and a bee hive would be perfect with them!  i wanted it a bit on the vintage-y side so i distressed all of my edges with my tim holtz edge distresser and then smudged on antique linen ink first and then vintage photo along just the edges.  i always use the ranger foam ink blending tool – it is easiest and gives the best, smoothest results. i  finished off with some of the brand new Dusty Lavender Pezablilng acrylic squares, along with one large pepermint one.  of course the bees are my very own skittle bees – these things seem to fly outta here as fast as i can get them in!

tues am sketches close up bee hive

i colored my little hive with only gray prisma pencils and then initially painted on Mellow Yellow Creative Inspirations paint for some knock out shimmer.  initially i had planned on posting this card this morning but didn’t get finished with shipping before we left for the Farmer’s Market and some lunch.  Well i was so glad I waited because when we got home i had a box of new paints from Molly!!!  i ripped that sucker open and spread them all out on the table – oh the shimmery delicious colors MY WORD ya’ll!!!  and among them a gorgeous bee-hive-perfect color called Sunshine!  so I quickly recolored the hive and then also added a smidge of Amethyst on the little sign over the doorway.  Then Pezzy and I just opened pots and dipped our fingertips into the paint on the lid and smeared them on scratch paper to see the colors!  i’ll need to make an actual swatch card later.  i took a TON of pics wanting to capture the shimmer just right but the paints are just SO DYNAMIC.  the bees’ wings are painted with Winter Frost.  Molly’s website is up and running and taking orders if you want to check them out for yourself!

i finished off with some of the new Distress Stickles – Shabby Shutters and Dusty Concord – on the corners of the main image and the card base.

i hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend!  I hear cooler weather is headed my way and i am SO ready for a taste of that!
