we are slated to have another wonderful day here and i hope to be spending some of it outside again!  we played outside yesterday afternoon and grilled some chicken for dinner – YUMMMMMMMEEEEE!  if i can get a good bit of work done while pezzy is at school i am going to bring a picnic with me to pick her up so we can spend some time out on the playground.  starting tomorrow we are supposed to be getting rain for a few days.  i wonder if we are done with the snow…….

Suzanne gave us a fun challenge this week for Try It Out Tuesday over on the store blog for Susana’s Custom Art & Card designs – buttons! i LOVE buttons though i don’t use them often enough!

my paper is from basic grey Eva, available in the 6×6 pad which i LOVE – just enough, not too much! i added a border using an EK success border punch & then used several bronze buttons tied with scrappers floss. Once the card was complete i stamped several prima flourishes in a light colored ink – Versamagic Wheat – and then went over them with 2 viva decor pens – gold glitter and cream pearl – and made little pearls. my big bow is made with the super easy bow easy – works like a charm!

my image is from the wonderful elisabeth bell Sampler 3 collection – Heartstrings. i stamped her with memento black ink and colored her with copics. i think she is just the sweetest!

i hope you all go have a look at the rest of the Design Team projects over on the Store blog – they are jaw dropping!  i was just in awe as i looked at them! don’t forget to sign up for the SCACD new release blog candy both HERE and for a second chance on Victoria Case’s blog!  Then on Friday we will all be participating in the new release blog hop!

my project today is super simple but really fun!  my mom hosts a family reunion crawfish boil every year on the sunday before easter.  i always make the invites.  of course she always starts off with these outlandish requests but so far i have managed to accomodate her.  last year we had a crawfish hatching from an ester egg!  well this year OF COURSE we had to incorporate the New Orleans Saints since they won the super bowl!  so i used Saints colors – white, black & gold and of course drew brees had to make an appearance:

i’m sorry but this just cracks me up!  it is  postcard style and the info will be on the back.  the gold embossed strip is this AMAZING new stuff i discovered at CHA – Glue Foil – it is foil with a heat activated adhesive already on the back of it!  so i ran it through my cuttlebug with this cool fleur de lis embossing folder, lid it on my card where i wanted it nd then heated it breifly with my heat gun.  i gently pressed it down with a paper towel (the foil gets hot fast) nd it sticks!  the best part is that it unsticks with more heat in case you need to move it ( i did!) and then resticks with additional heat!  i also FINALLY tried out the glue suzanne swears by after some frustration with my defective ATG gun.  she uses scotch 3m quick dry glue.  i am NOT a fan of white glue.  nightmares of childhood and elmers glue buckling my paper and ruining my master pieces.  well so far i am liking the scotch glue – works well for my large panels AND my tiny die cut pieces.  my little drew brees is cut with my cricut OF COURSE using the Everyday Paaper Dolls cartridge – cricut cuts are the BEST way to go when making LOTS of something!  his little face is a peachy keen stamp – she makes THE most adorable face stamps to go with all of your cricut cartridges plus really cute regular stamps too – i just LOVE her whimsical style!

and now it is off to work i go!!  my plate is FULL and pezzy has play gym today too!

BE SURE AND GET YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS IN!!!

hugs!
