SC310 & TIO*T*: wrapping it up!

hi all!

so who is readyf or christmas????  NOT ME!  but i am getting there.  Pezza and i have finallized our christmas cookie list – we will be making 6 different kinds of cookies plus peanut butter chocolate balls (hubby’s favorite).  i still have to finish sewing my mom’s gift, put the finishing touches on my teacher gifts (3 of them) and make my MIL’s gift.  and just two weeks to go!  i think hubby is going to try and get his christmas shopping done tomorrow.  trevor never uses his closet so i have been stuffing all of pezza’s gifts in there.  last night he says um…..why do i have a pile of toys in my closet and where did they come from?  i said DUH santa stuff!!!  helloooooo!  pezza was behaving BEYOND hideously yesterday in walmart but then she got concerned an elf might see her a nd report her so she straightened up – and the santa blackmail is finally sinking in YAY!!!

now on to why you are really here!!!  i have a how to video for ya at the end!!!

for TIO*T* this week for Susana’s Custom we get to do anything our little heart’s desire – fun fun! susana now has the sets of Ranger’s Perfect Pearls mica powders in the store and i am a TOTAL perfect pearls-aholic and BAD! if you have not played with these you are missing out! of course i have been working feverishly on christmas gifts for folks and realized i need gift bags too! so that’s what i did today and have a video for you to go along with it!!!

i used yesterday’s Splitcoast Stampers challenge sketch for the layout:

i have used a number of products and techniques for this one. it is for Pezza’s teacher’s gift – she is a paper crafter and Close to my Heart rep so the pressure is on! hahhha!!

The great big awesome bow was done using the Bow Easy.

My background was on plain white paper. I started by using shimmering mists. first mist the whole paper with a pale colorless shimmering mist – you can use Tsukineko psst shimmer gold OR make your own using perfect pearls powder and water in a mini mister. Next choose TWO crafter’s workshop stencils. Lay your fisrt one down on your paper and choose a COLORED shimmering mist – you can use Maya Mist, Smooch Spritz OR make another one of your own using Perfect Pearls, water and a few drops of reinker in a mini mister. Now mist LIGHTLY and from a bit of a distance so you get a fine mist and down cause the stencil to shift. you also don’t want to mist heavily enough to soak your paper and blur your stencil image. i gave mine a few mists and let it dry in between so my stencil image showed up nicely. For the next step you need your second stencil and Viva Decor modeling cream – positively amazing stuff!!! for this one i used two different colors over my stencil to get a marbled effect. i LOVE the look i get with this – the softness of the shimmering mist background agains the crispness of the modeling cream design and all the gorgeous shimmer of all three layers are just GORGEOUS!

My focal panel is another way to use perfect pearls. it is SO simple and SO pretty! I took two Lockhart Itty Bitty stamps and stamped one randomly using versamark. i brushed over it with forever blue perfect pearls powder. Next i stamped randomly using the second image and versamark and then brushed over it with green patina perfect pearls. i took a large soft brush and brushed over the image panel vigorously to remove the excess powder. Mist VERY lightly with water to SET your image and it won’t rub off!

Be sure to watch the video below for a demonstration of these techniques and then check out the WODNERFUL perfect pearl kits in the store – a truly versatile project you can turn to again and again for a huge variety of things!

hoppin’ with Artful INKables

we have had some DREAM weather here in orthen VA this weekend!  Pezzy and I have spent as much time as possible outside.  Daddy got her some new sand for her sand table and she has been in heaven!  i hope that lasts awhile!

well not much chattin’ from me today.  i have an important mission!  i am here to help introduce a new selection of adorable stamps from artful INKables!

If you arrived here from Cheryl’s blog you are on the right track for the hop.  If you stumbled into the hop unknowingly and want to catch all of the new sets then you can start with Kristin!

I am SO thrilled to be working with the Peacock Pagentry background stamp.  The instant i saw it i thought of perfect pearls:

I cut out the box on my cricut using the Tags Bags Boxes & More on the fit to page setting.

i used a textured paper which gave the final project a great effect.  i stamped the peacock feather background using versamark and then dusted randomly with perfect pearls mica powder and a soft brush.  after i covered the images i misted lightly with water to set them – the shimmer and wow factor is off the charts and the peacock feathers on this stamp are amazing!

I finished off the front with this cool paisley image cut from the Paisley Cricut Cartridge.  After cutting the pieces out i sprayed them with vanilla breeze smooch spritz.    i am really pleased with the drama of this little box!

Make sure to comment on every one’s blog, because two lucky commenters will win some AI stamps! One will win In My Garden and Epic Tales, and the other will win Peacock Pagentry and Paisleys & Peacocks.  Please leave your comments by Thursday, March 25th, 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time. The winners will be chosen on Friday, March 26th.

now be sure to head on over to the next stop on the hop – Jackie – and check out what she has done with another new set!

i hope you all have a great start to your week!

SC246: fall card with cricut

good morning!  happy wednesday!  anyone else getting a taste of fall weather yet?  we had some but it has disappeared again – i thought it might have been too good to be true!  i think i prefer the cold (but not the lack of daylight) – imean when your cold you cna just put on more layers (or get yourself a snuggie – which is what is gonna happen at christmas at my house HAHHAHAHHAHHAHA j/k). but in the summer when you are sweltering hot there is only so many layers you can take OFF!

SC246%20NCback with another card to share – this one featuring my cricut – YAY!!  i used todays sketch over on scs.

my main *image* features cuts from an older cricut cartridge – doodlecharms – this is still one of my most favorite cartridges:

i took 2 pics cuz i wanted to show the shimmer of the stamped panel.  there has been some discussion about versamark dazzle (mostly disappointment) on one of my yahoo groups so i thought what the heck – maybe i should give it a second chance.  nope…still disappoints….so i brushed on some copper perfect pearls instead!

well i am outta here!  keepin it short today as i have lots to do as usual!  might include a trip to cut off all my hair as pezzy’s obsession with my hair is driving me up the wall – she has been sitting here next to me pulling it out the whole time i typed this post and i swear i am gonna scream!!!!!

CAS27: blingin bees

blog tag

good morning!  what a weekend!  but we are nearly done building pezzy’s playset and it is SO cool!  hubby finally got the slide on and she was testing it out while we were laying in the bottom of the fort part and i hear *next i am going to do a dazzling flip* from the top of the slide!  we both sat up real fast! wild child!

ok onto my project – todays card is for the Clean & Simple challenge on SCS – use bling – ok so not much of a challenge for me!!  i had a few extra cricut cuts from a project last week just laying on my table – one was a bee hive i just love so i went from there:

i combined images from several different stam sets for this one.  i used little skittle bees with the matching painted skittle bodies, a border from the picnicin ladybug set and the small flower from chocolate treats 2 – any of the stamp  sets can be mixed and matched like this as they are all sized to work together – opens up a world of possibilities so you get more use out of each purchase which i feel strongly about!  i crocheted a bunch of flowers this weekend (love these SO much) and used one up in the corner with a glittery skittle center.

CAS27 close uphere’s an angled close up so you can see the bling – it is always so hard to get a good pic of!  i smudged distress ink around the edges of the top layer of the hive cut out and then brushed it with perfect pearls and misted lightly with water to set it.  i stamped the little flowers on the border with shimmering brilliance pearlescent ink and pout glittering pink pezabling acrylic squares on.  the bee bodies are also glittery and of COURSE their wings are stickles!

you can snatch up all of these fun things on my website!

and now i am off to do more labels and try to get the last of all the orders out today!  the butterfly scallop nesties has already sold out but i DO have more on the way!  guess that means i should make some more of those kind???

have a fanTASTic day!

Sketch For You To Try

Another Easter card today!

I used Jen’s SFYTT for the LO of the card:

My Etsy inspiration piece from Handmade by Rebecca

And I used Ashley’s Etsy Inspired challenge as the inspiration for the embellie in Jen’s sketch – here is my inspiration piece from Handmade by Rebecca:

AND the card:

easter fun
easter fun

I LOVE this paper I ran across in my stash from blossoms and butterflies. I thought it would make a great background for the embellie. I just stamped in versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder. next i covered the back of the Tim Holtz fragment piece with glossy accents and laid it over the embossing. i kind of moved it around a bit to get the glossy accents spread completely under the piece and then smooshed out the air bubbles so it is perfectly clear.  All of the stamps are from the My Favorite Things Hoppy Easter set which is CHOCK FULL of very cute little easter images AND on sale right now for almost half price!!!  the images are colored with prismas and gamsol – yep i pulled out my poor neglected pencils!  the top panel has an images stamped in versamark and dusted with perfect pearls sunflower sparkle and then accented with dots of liquid pearls.  the easter egg is also decorated with liquid pearls.  a great way to add dimension and a bit of shimmer quickly!

I get ALOT of questions about liquid pearls versus dimensional pearls versus perfect pearls and i see even more questions and confusion out on the boards.  SO I decided to start monthly Product Spotlight segments which will be headed up by catherine  and other members of the playgroup will play along as well.  tomorrow i will kick things of by having an in depth comparison and info on the different options to get a little shimmer going on your projects.  After that we will have LOTS of ideas, techniques and tutorials on the shimmer i carry in the store – perfect pearls, dimensional pearls, liquid pearls and brilliance pearlescent inks.  so i DO hope you check in here often as well as on the other Pezzy Playgroup blogs.  Be sure to let us know your thoughts on our info and tutorials AND if you have any requests for future product spotlights let us know!

a 3 for 1 – gotta love that!

so i managed to cover THREE challenges in one card!!! how crazy is that? I used the colors for this week’s SCS challenge – CC205, i used Jen’s sketch ->
AND it is also for a new challenge i stumbled across via ashley (etsy inspired challenge) and found on Libby’s blog called Courtney’s Closet. Courtney just turned one and each week Libby posts her picture and you create a card inspired by her outfit. and HOORAY! i stumbled onto the one that is a contest too! and a prize of goodies i don’t already have SWEEEEEEEEEEET!
ok ok right – card:
so the CC205 challenge was pink pirouette, kiwi kiss and perfect plum – i LOVE perfect plum – ALOT. plus i love purple and green together PLUS the inspiration picture from Courtney’s Closet on libby’s blog had pink in it so hey! and then Jen’s sketch was on my table so i just went with it and it all came together. i stamped the Polkadot Pie image with versamark and then randomly brushed it with perfect pearls in turquoise, forever violet and patina green so it would be colorful like the wording on courtney’s cupcake shirt. the bottom piece representing courtney’s dark pink pants is a piece of glossy cardstock done with alcohol inks using tims “twist and dismount” technique- he used it on one of the 12 tags this year and again in his class at CHA . added the frosty pink and plum square embellies (you’ll be seeing more of those here soon!) and a couple clay cupcakes i made yesterday, embossed the pink panel and there it is.

here is a better pic of the shimmery goodness on this cupcake – oh man i love perfect pearls – just NOTHIN like them! i hope to do a bit of shimmer-y comparisons next week.
