TIOT: Crush

hi all!

me n pezza have been on our own again with hubby out of town.  she wanted to get some books at the library so we went and did that yesterday.  i came across some of those old Dick and Jane books and got several – sure enough she can read quite a bit of them.  she decided over Christmas to teach herself to read 😛  she has already taught herseld how to do math.  i don’t know WHAT they are going to do with her in kindergarten.  ESPECIALLY since she has 1 1/2 years to go – she is not starting this fall YIKES!

we will be spending the day today working on a birthday cake for a friend down the street.  nothing as complicated as the snowflake cake!  just one tier, buttercream frosting, polka dots on the side and then she wants a dog on top – she sent me a picture and i had it printed onto a frosting sheet.  the guy who did it insisted it is really easy to put on the cake – we’ll see!

Remember to catch the very first Imagine This Friday tomorrow!  we will be doing a basic card demonstrating how to do an image as one layer and several layers.  In addition we will have a giveaway too!

i have a little Valentine card for you for TIOT with Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design! This one came together quickly and uses the current color challenge over on SCS:
The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny Crush 6×6 collection (on discount in the store right now!) I used three stamps from the Inkadinkado inchie flourishes set. i mounted them on a piece of super glittery Best Creations cardstock. Next i took an all white flower (susana has lots to choose from) and gave it a good mist with Tsukineko psst Shimmer Spritz in sheer silver and then edged the petals with red ink. i finished it off with a red Prima Jewelry center. i punched the bottom of my cardstock with a border punch and then highlighted it by inking and adding teeny red pearls with my Viva Pearl Pen. finally i added a very subtle (2 floss strands) line of stitching above the border using the Sew Easy tool.  The sentiment is one of the latest Valentine Studio G stamps (I am sold out – but i do have some of a previous valentine/spring collection!)

There are so many fun things to play with at SCACD! i am a big fan of variety!

thanks so much for stopping by!  i really treasure each of my visitors!
