Viva Decor Day 7: fun ideas for tags

hi all!

thanks for all your get well wishes for Pezza- she is feeling much better now but has a lingering cough that is annoying her.  and i have somewhat caught up on sleep 🙂

i have also received lots of questions about where to buy viva products.  Susana at Susana’s custom Art & Card Design has a good many of them in stock and she ships fast.  so i suggest trying there first.  Hobby Lobby carries a few of the products as well and you will find them in the clay aisles.  in addition be sure to check your local small specialty scrapping and stamping stores locally as they may have them OR may consider getting them in if they see customers want them.

day 7 – the final day –  of our Viva Decor party here at Pezadoodle Designs! Viva Decor has been SO generous and is supplying prize packs for one of YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 7 days!!! How do you win? simply leave a comment on the post for each day. want extra chances to win? there are two ways to get your name thrown into the hat for two more chances. subscribe to my blog via email AND announce this party on your blog! if you post the link i will be automatically notified so you don’t need to come back here and let me know.

YOU HAVE UNTIL TUESDAY NIGHT TO ENTER ALL 7 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS!!!  i will announce winners wednesday morning so be sure to check back for your name!

and now on to today’s projects – these are more disorganized because there are several items demonstrating uses for a variety of products:

now wanna see what you can win today???

how’s that for a great mix of goodies?!?!  now let me show you what you can do with it!

I really wanted to show you how fabulous these products are on acetate/acrylic/glass items.  i began today’s projectwith no real firm idea in mind but i just wanted to experiment and play.  i encourage you all to take time to do this from time to time because it is fun and inventive and leads to really great discoveries!

i started by making some tags to play with.

never underestimate your recycling!!!  to make my tags i used an empty cereal box and the plastic from a new et of nestibilities i just got.  this stuff cuts WONDERFULLY with the thick sizzix dies, spellbinders dies and even with your Cricut!  you can make tags and embellishments quickly and easily and oh so cheaply!  so here is what i ended up with:

some other things i pulled out – Inkadinkado stamps – amazing flourishy goodness and solid stamps perfect for playing, StazOn ink pads in several Christmas colors plus the new metallics, and several Crafter’s Workshop plastic stencils – these are hands down my fave stencils and i consider them an essential part of my creative toolbox.

Now just make a mess and have fun!

don’t be afraid to make a mess, don’t be afraid to try something that might not work.  you SHOULD have stuff everywhere – hands, table, clothes!  now i will show you the finished pieces that worked out AND tell you about the ones that didn’t!

Love this one!  the tag base is a tim holtz die.  i stamped the cardinal with Staz On ink and then edged the tag with a little bit of golden red modeling cream.  next i added two of the four holly leaves i played with – also cut with sizzix dies (i subscribe to the newsletter and get them super duper cheap on Tuesdays or on clearance). Acetate leaf: lay a crafter’s workshop stencil over the leaf and gently smooth golden green modeling cream over the openings and then lift the stencil off.  let it dry.  then add more modeling cream around the edges of the leaf.  when working with acetate or acrylic it is nice to highlight the edges in some way.  Cereal box leaf: this was super easy and looks really pretty.  i just smoothed more golden green modeling cream over the entire piece.  once dry i stamped it with Staz On ink.

i began by stamping one side of the tag with another flourishy christmas stamp using gold Staz On ink.  Once dry i flipped it over and used another Crafter’s Workshop stencil and golden red modeling cream.  when the modeling cream was dry i edged the tag using gold Staz On.

you can see how incredibly crisp the details are with these stencils and this modeling cream – just GORGEOUS!

love love love this one.  again i stamped on one side using Staz On ink and let it dry.  next i used yet another crafter’s workshop stencil on the other side and covered it in 3D glitter gel and then lifted.  how incredible is that snowflake???  3D Glitter gel is amazing stuff!  it is a colored thick gel packed with glitter and microbeads.

i finished it off with little dots of Chrome Silver Pearl Pen and one of my cute little snowflake skittles (available in my store).

and it looks cool from the back side too!

silver Staz On would have looked really awesome too!

next up is one of the cereal box tags.  i painted it with Precious Metal Color – knock your socks off Emerald Green!  next i stamped the christmas tree in silver StazOn ink.  Acetate leaf: i simply edged the leaf and the vein with more 3D glitter gel and let it dry.  Chipboard leaf: i just covered it in a layer of yummy glitter gel.  again i used Chrome SIlver Pearl Pen for dots around the edges.  the yellow star and red berriws are my own exclusive glittered skittles available in my store.

this is a cute little acetate bell cut with a sizzix die.  i used a finger tip dabber and dabbed Precious Metal paint on the bow and ribbon for an incredible shimmering green and then i stamped a flourishy holly bunch in gold StazOn.

i just LOVE the look i get on acetate and acrylic with Viva Decor products!!!  AGAIN leave a comment for today’s projects to get your name in the running to win this great group of products!  you have until tuesday night to enter all 7 giveaways.  winners will be announced on wednesday morning!

**other than wednesday i will be taking this week off from blogging and work in general to enjoy my sweet hubby and kids over the holidays.

have a great week!
