pretty frames

hi everyone!

my dear hubby made it back home last night – he has been working out of town WAY too much lately!  things just aren’t as smooth around here when daddy is gone.  he gets a 3 day weekend before he has to leave again.  not sure what we are going to do yet but i know he is going out with trev tomorrow to look for a car since drake took his back to new hampshire with him.

i was very flattered when Marlo from Scrap ‘n Tote contacted me and asked if i would like to do a few guest spots for her.  her only requirement – i have to use my Cricut – HA!  easy peasy for me!  The Scrap ‘n Tote is an ingenious little storage system just for your cricut cartridges, overlays and books.  it keeps things completely organized in far less space than those bulky boxes they come in!

i decided i wanted to play with my Cindy Loo cartridge since i have not played with it nearly enough.  it has a VERY COOL frames creative feature which i used here:

i used this week’s sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers for inspiration.  i like the simplicity of the sketch and kept my card clean and simple too.  i inked up my stamps with 2 colors of Brilliance ink (easy to do with the little dew drop pads.)  then i stamped on glossy paper.  i used a cool holly edge punch on my center strip.

the frames on Cindy Loo aren’t just plain basic frames – they have layered designs on the corner or the side.  this one had a nice branch and leaf design.  plus the edge is so pretty too!  i cut it at 3″ which was just right for the stamp i used.    i finished it off with some white dot borders and two red shimmering clay poinsettia embellishments.  this embellishments will be a part of my viva decor blog party that starts on monday!  you won’t BELIEVE how easy they are!

thanks marlo for the opportunity to share with your customers!

hugs
