check out this necklace!

good morning!

i hope you have all recovered from the halloween sugar hangovers by now – both your own AND your kids’!  Dianne – Drake’s girlfriend – made dinner for us – beef stew – HEAVENLY!  drake has been bragging about her cooking since he met her, an important thing because drake likes to eat!  that boy has always eaten HUGE amounts of food and yet he is never bigger around than my finger!

Pezza’s birthday party is tomorrow – ACK!  so i spent yesterday out doing some last minute shopping while drake babysat and i will be spending today putting together goodie bags and her birthday cake.  we are having the party at Pump It Up – one of those places filled with giant inflatable bouncy things and slides and such.  needless to say by sunday morning i will probably be dead on my feet!

i have a cool little non paper related project to show you today – they will be making their way into some gift sets me thinks!

this project came to me via one of our guest designers in the most recent issue of Through the Craft Room Door – the paper copies have already gone out but if you are not a subscriber and want to get this one you can still subscribe and get the PDF version for Nov-Dec. just CLICK HERE

these are little crocheted necklaces using the yarn you see in the picture – cool looking stuff isn’t it?  it is a bit metallic-y so the colors are really beautiful.  it is called Dazzle by Knitting Fever and i got it from Coveted Yarns.

when you work up the necklace the little colored portions of the yarn give it a varied, almost beaded look.  these are SUPER easy and SUPER quick!  i will definitely be making more of them.

be sure to check THIS POST regarding our project call for the next issue!

what do YOU think of them???  cute or am i crazy? hahhaha

hugs

  1. You’re not crazy for loving those necklaces Marti, in fact my daughter is already selling them on Etsy, as are others. I’ve just talked her out of one so far but it gets rave reviews any time I wear it! One custom order asked for the Red Hatter colors of red and purple, so Emily even added a Red Hat charm to it. Looked fab and got great reviews.

On another note… my TC Stampmaker and Studio G arrived today! Guess what I’ll be playing with today? Thanks!
