SC292 & TIOT: spunky lil’ Aurora for ya!

hellooo!!!

well i did it!  i sewed a bag!  now i have sewn before so i wasn’t COMPLETELY unsure of myself BUT i had never done a bag before…

Pezza had picked out this fabric way back before spring.  if you have not been in a quilt shop before let me tell ya how they “get” ya – quilting fabric collections come out just like paper collections – you will have anywhere from 5 to 15 or more coordinating fabrics in a collection and the patterns are to die for!  then what they do at my shop is bundle them all up together which makes them even more appealing and easy to grab!  so Pezza grabbed this one (among others) and i used several to make her this little bag.  i had a few bumps along the way and the bag wouldn’t hold up to close scrutiny but i learned the ins and outs and am ready to make her another one for Halloween!

i am so glad to be getting back into a normal routine to be here posting for Susana’s store! This week we are doing a color challenge with Aurora! Our colors are green, pink & blue…..well i didn’t manage to sneak any pink in but i am close right??? in addition we were to use some Viva Decor products and you know how i LOVE my Viva Decor!!!

I used the sketch for yesterday’s SCS challenge – and it was a challenge! i almost didn’t do it but i am glad i did! it turned out cute!  In addition my card is also inspired by the following challenges:

Pile It On – Butterflies, bugs, and bees
Creative Card Crew – Cute N Girly
ABC Challenge – A is for August
Daring Cardmakers – It’s a girl thing

and here is my card:

I used patterned papers from the Memory Box Jubilee collection Susana got in recently – i am hoping to add a few more of those to my stash! i colored Aurora and her little Bee friend from the Aurora 2 collection with Copics and cut her out with the Labels 4 Spellbinders die.

i am in LOVE with the Maya Road chipboard minis that Susana has been bringing in. Here i have a swirl that has been sprayed with gold Maya Mist and a flower that has been covered in the super shining Steel Blue Inka Gold by Viva Decor. I mounted it on a fabric yoyo and accented it with a glittered skittle and some tiny Viva Decor Pearl Pen droplets. i added another mini fabric yoyo and glittered skittle to balance the cluster.

Here i have another maya chipboard mini – a butterfly – covered with Lava Green Inka Gold and accented with both pearl pen and glitter liner.

and now i am off to finish playing catch up!!! have a fantastic day!!!
