i’m back! hahahhaha!
i am trying to get back on track here with my morning posts! then some computer work while pezzy is at school – good thing i have a few young & restless episodes on the DVR to catch up on! i KNOW soaps are ridiculous and they irk me with their total non-sensical story lines but oh so addicting. i started watching it with my grandma decades ago and have wtched on nd off for years. since the DVR came to live with us i have been getting back into it again!
i have a fun LO for you today!
today is Creative Inspirations challenge day! i challenged the DT (team A) to an icing on the cake challenge – meaning they had to use the super shimmery CI paints on their embellishments. so here is MINE:
i am EXACTLY ONE YEAR BEHIND on my scrapbooking ACK! these were taken on mother’s day last year! i absolutely love them! she has on this CA-YUTE little strawberry dress. the large pic is jazzed up via some tutorials in a jessica sprague class i took – HIGHLY recommend her!!! the paper is Berry Sweet by K&Co – LOVE this pad!! the spellbinder accents and tim holtz alterations border piece are also papers from the same pad. the mothers day title is another spellbinders die – i inked it up a bit with the CI Garnet paint and a sponge dabbber to give it some shimmer. the stamp is a studio G OF COURSE. i cut the phrase from the Alphalicious cricut cartridge.
i used this sketch from page maps - my FAVE:
as you can see i tweaked it a little to sit my needs but that’s what’s so great about sketches!
I cut the strawberries from the Hello Kitty Cricut Cartridge. Then i painted them with garnet and evergreen CI paints – they are SO SHIMMERY!
I also added some little white primas to mimic the strawberry plant’s flowers. these are embossed so i added some Pink Highlights CI paint to the raised portions. this color is a wonderful pure shimmer thta glows pink when the light hits it!
you can really see the shimmery goodness in this pic!
i printed out a bunch of pics so i can try and get caught up at least a little bit! i printed out the may page maps and will be using those. makes it so easy! i use photoshop elements to size and /or crop them to the dimensions shown in the sketch. then i open a word document and just insert them all and print.
Be sure to check out all the DT creations!!
