Cricutters Anonymous with me AND Pezzy!

ahhhhh the weekend is coming!  i am hoping to go to a local craft & garden fair on saturday with pezzy while daddy is at a car show BUT it looks like it may rain 😦

i have been working my booty off finalizing the next issue of Through the Craft Room Door and hope to have it off to the publishers in the morning!!  Our next issue is chock full of wonderful distress/vintage/shabby chic projects and design ideas.  These are perfect for weddings AND those super tough father’s day or general guy themed projects.  If masculine cards stump you this is a must see issue!  for subscription info >>GO HERE<<

Today’s project is for the current challenge over at Cricutters Anonymous – we were to do a picnic inspired project.  To me watermelons are THE picnic symbol so i made this fun watermelon card:

The watermelon is from an oldie but goodie Cricut cartridge – Doodlecharms!  This cartridge has such a wide variety of really cute images – i use it ALOT!  I cut the wonky white triangle mat using another oldie but goodie – the George cartridge.  The watermelon diecut and picnic theme tied in perfectly with a few of my FAVE Pezadoodle exclusive stamps – The Buggie Friends collection – the red stamped border is from Picnicin’ Ladybug & the little watermelon is from Picnicin Bee.  All of the stamp sets at Pezadoodle have borders and accents that are designed to fit with and mix ‘n match with each other!

To finish it off i added the coordinating watermelon skittles – bright watermelon pink skittles with the same little watermelon printed on them!

This card was SO much fun!

Initially i had made a larger watermelon die cut but decided i didn’t like it.  When Pezzy woke up she wanted to do a craft so i grabbed a few things and brought them up to her and here is her project:

She started by putting some red pepper dimensional pearls paint on an ink foam blending tool and randomly pouncing it across her paper – a perfect watermelon red dontcha think??  Next she stamped some random watermelons across her page – another accent image from the Picnicin’ ladybug set.  Next she glued her diecut layers together – ON HER OWN!  She’s pretty good huh?  of COURSE she wanted some watermelon skittles to finish hers off too!  i think she is planning on giving this to her friend next door she is always playing with.

I am sad to say this is my last post as a part of the Cricutters Design Team.  I have not been able to live up to the requirements and have so much going on, including Cricut classes starting next month, work with Above Rubies Sudio and something i am working with Provo Craft on – all wonderfully exciting!!  i have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the team and the fun challenges and of course i adore my cricut so it wasn’t hard coming up with projects!!  Be sure to continue checking the Cricutters Anonymous site for loads of ideas and inspiration!

and now back to work!!
