hellooooooooo!
happy wednesday! today is grocery day for us. gotta love super walmart! we are going to try and take off super early so pezzy can go to a little afternoon fun class at the community center and i can get some more work done. she will only go if i call it daycare 😛 yesterday she-who-never-sleeps was coloring and she looks up and says mom i have decided i don’t want to grow anymore. so i am thinking okkkkkkkkkk this could go in a number of bizarre directions…….and then she says SO you don’t have to put me to bed anymore so that i can grow while i sleep and then i can just stay awake all the time! YIKES. so i told her that was not an option….
i have an Artful INKables card for ya today for the latest Think Ink challenge!
it is a GOOD one too – you have to use paint chips. now this was no new idea to me – i hd collected a PILE of them way back when i first got my cricut several years ago. and there they sat in the sticker bucket (which i never touch) going totally unused. but seriously they are SO good to use and heck they are FREE!!!!! so i dug out the pile along with my beautiful Fanciful Flowers stamp set by artful inkables.
i kept to a very Clean & Simple design – which i find quite easy to do though i hear a lot of folks say they are the hardest……:
My LO is from Page Maps and i knew it would be perfect for what i had in mind. when i picked up the paint chips i made sure to get the LARGER swatches so i would have more room to work. I stamped the rosebud on each of the three graduated colors and cut them out. then i stamped the sentiment on a green paint chip and cut it out with the deckled rectangle Nesties.
One thing i noticed – the paint chips are somewhat slick so my first try with Memento Dye ink did not dry. i wiped them off with a bit of stamp cleaner and then re-stamped with Brilliance which is a pigment ink and heat dried it with my heat gun. this worked much better. i gave each rose square a gorgeous little Pezabling square in one of the new colors – Green Ash (there are 7 new colors) and i thought it was just the right touch to finish it off. i resisted the urge to do more as i felt the card really did stand on it’s own just like it is – what do YOU think?
if there had been time i would have done second one where i cut a design from each swatch with my cricut and used the same layout but maybe another day!
if you have not already i urge you to run over to Artful INKables and check out the stamps – seriously adorable stuff!
walmart here we come!
hugs

So pretty, I love the torn, sponged edge!
great card–I can just see all the paint stores wondering why they are running out of swatches as your readers recreate this card!
