Tues Morning sketch time…

hi all!!

i am writing this up friday night to post in the morning.  we are getting loads of snow here YAY!!  i went out and did  bit of shoveling – i LOVE to shovel snow.  i don’t know why, i just do!  we had a good 5″ – 6″ or so already.  it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to shovel – 3 cars wide and 2 cars deep – & by the time i was done, the front walk already had over an inch on it again!!  it is supposed to snow even more overnight so i can’t wait to see what it looks like when i get up!

pezzy stayed inside with daddy and he snapped this pic of her with my big Tiger kitty – and no the child will still NOT keep her clothes on – i don’t know HOW she doesn’t freeze.  she also cut  fairly large portion of her hair off on one side so she will likely have short hair in the next pic you see of her….

i used my friend Melissa’s sketch from her tuesday morning challenge for my card today – i LOVE this sketch!  So many possibilities!

and my card:

i used one of my SEI juliette papers – this collection is SO gorgeous AND goes perfectly with two of the NEW distress ink colors – Spun Sugar and Pumice Stone – which i used to ink the edges.  the scallop die cut border is a MS punch and the scallop ribbon also came with my Juliette kit – it is a wonderful velvet ribbon.

my main image piece is actually made from polymer clay.  i rolled a piece out fairly thin, then stamped it with a regular rubber stamp.  next i lightly brushed it with gold mica powder so it highlighted the raised portions.

i made several pieces like this – i think they came out really cool!  i think some of my Tim stamps will make neat pieces!

now i am off to bed and you will be reading this in the morning while i am out shoveling more snow!

hugs

  1. I love getting out and shoveling fresh snow also. The world is so pristine. Last weekend, the Charlotte, NC area got snow & freezing rain. The driveway had about 3/4″ of ice on it. I had this urge to go out & mess with it. ( It must be part of my Minnesota upbringing.) That ice wasn’t moving. Of course, we don’t have any snow shovels or such, as we usually only get 1 snowfall each winter & it usually warms up enough during the day to melt it all. We usually don’t even shovel and just wait for it to melt away. I couldn’t figure out why I wanted to go out in it & try shoveling. At least, it wasn’t frigid cold like it was in MN. in the winter.

  2. Wow, the kitty is almost bigger than pezzie. She is adorable!

  3. Wow, that’s one big kitty!!!

You love to shovel snow so much? Come on down to the Baltimore area- 31″ on the ground from a weekend blizzard and another possible 20 inches coming over night tonight! I’m NOT enjoying shoveling!!!
