i made another gift card box but this time it is Christams themed – it will go to my brother so i did it with him in mind:

xmas box 1

here is the top:

xmas box 2

Now the front:

i did this little piece using using a tim holtz method from last year.  i cut the piece of ranger’s glossy paper with my nestie.  i dripped a few drops of metallic mixative, alcohol ink and blending solution on my non-stick craft mat and then smeared the shape around face down and lifted by one corner.  next i stamped the reindeer with versamark and embossed with black.  i added a few snowflake rubons and some rock candy distress stickles for snow.

and here is the box opened:

and a few close ups:

the snowy houses are cut with my cricut.  for snow i covered them with polar white flower soft before attaching the snow cut layer to the main layer.  i cut 3 christmas trees and attached them at their tips with scor tape – the only way to be SURE they won’t comme unstuck!  then i put a little piece of scor tape coming off of each trunk to attach the tree to the bottom of the box.  the bird piece was done just like the front piece with alcohol inks but then i stamped the image with coffee archival ink and added another snowflake rubon.  that side has a little pocket to slide the gift card in.  the tree is decorated with more flower soft and some ruby liquid pearls for christmas balls.  these are so much fun to make and a way better gift card presentation method i think!

well i am off to hang out with my mom – i may not be back until monday – we’ll see!
