Just Buggin – packaging it up

it has been raining non-stop here – i WISH that meant i got to hang out in my studio and create the days away but…….luckily pezzy has been super cooperative and i have managed to get quite a bit done by prepping everything downstairs and then letting her help/watch while i finish it up and put it together up in the kitchen.  so i have lots to show you this weekend 🙂

first up is a project i did with the Design Team call over at Just Buggin’ in mind.  the challenge was to use the cricut for an ABC project (anything but a card):

get well box

I decided to take a break from the holidays and make a little get well gift box.the template for the box is by Lauren Meador and can be found at Papertrey Ink.  it is supposed to be a picnic basket but i think it just makes a cute, interesting container in general so i left off the handles.  i have some eucalyptus soap, a eucalyptus fizzy ball and some teas.  Once i have someone in mind that needs this i will add a few more items to personalize it like a mini puzzle book and some tissues……

get well close up

this entirely too cute sick turtle is from whipper snapper – they actually call it a sick bug but somehow i decided it was a turtle…..anyway i adore whipper snapper’s whimsical images and would certainly own lots more if only i could!  i colored him with copics and cut him out.

i wanted the box to be cheery and bright so i used paper from SU’s new in colors – LOVE them – and then decorated with some leaves, flowers and swirls cut on my cricut.  i used the shadow feature to make the flowers and leaves really stand out and gave the main die cuts some ink around the edges (ranger’s foam blending tool makes theis process quick n easy) so they would have some nice definition.  i finished off the flowers with some crystal ice stickles for max bling.  i used pop dots to attach the turtle, flowers and leaves for dimension – some flowers have 2 or 3 layers so that everything is a different depth.

the lid looked a little plain so i lined the edges with some bright orange pezabling acrylic squares and skittles with a little flower printed on them.

tomorrow i will have some super cute packaging for those yummy halloween cookies which we will be giving to a couple neighbor kids Pezzy likes to play with.  the gift set includes a REALLY cute and WAY easy little decor item using those alcohol inks again!  wanna know how NOT intimidatd you should be by alcohol inks???  i did the project WITH the 2 year old.  heee heeee!

well i have the morning to myself so i cleaned my studio up so i could find my work space when i got up this morning and hope to get ALOT done!!!  i hope y’all have some crafting time too!!!!  see ya tomorrow with halloween cute-ness!!
