Quick quick post!  BARELY in time to show y’all my card for this week’s Tues AM challenge.  Melissa threw in a color challenge this week to see if we were paying attention!  The colors are certainly celery, elegant eggplant and kraft (or equivalents):

tues am sketches

I realyl designed this card around the crocheted border, pansy and leaf.  i did them to show someone in the All Things Tim group I am in and was really pleased with them and wanted to use them.  i thought bees and a bee hive would be perfect with them!  i wanted it a bit on the vintage-y side so i distressed all of my edges with my tim holtz edge distresser and then smudged on antique linen ink first and then vintage photo along just the edges.  i always use the ranger foam ink blending tool – it is easiest and gives the best, smoothest results. i  finished off with some of the brand new Dusty Lavender Pezablilng acrylic squares, along with one large pepermint one.  of course the bees are my very own skittle bees – these things seem to fly outta here as fast as i can get them in!

i colored my little hive with only gray prisma pencils and then initially painted on Mellow Yellow Creative Inspirations paint for some knock out shimmer.  initially i had planned on posting this card this morning but didn’t get finished with shipping before we left for the Farmer’s Market and some lunch.  Well i was so glad I waited because when we got home i had a box of new paints from Molly!!!  i ripped that sucker open and spread them all out on the table – oh the shimmery delicious colors MY WORD ya’ll!!!  and among them a gorgeous bee-hive-perfect color called Sunshine!  so I quickly recolored the hive and then also added a smidge of Amethyst on the little sign over the doorway.  Then Pezzy and I just opened pots and dipped our fingertips into the paint on the lid and smeared them on scratch paper to see the colors!  i’ll need to make an actual swatch card later.  i took a TON of pics wanting to capture the shimmer just right but the paints are just SO DYNAMIC.  the bees’ wings are painted with Winter Frost.  Molly’s website is up and running and taking orders if you want to check them out for yourself!

i finished off with some of the new Distress Stickles – Shabby Shutters and Dusty Concord – on the corners of the main image and the card base.

i hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend!  I hear cooler weather is headed my way and i am SO ready for a taste of that!
