Class with Donna

hi everyone!  well i had no playtime this weekend on my own but i DID get lots of images ready for rubber as well as other work – not nearly caught up after the week i had last week but it’s a start!  i DID however go to a class yesterday afternoon at my not-so-local LSS – A Happy Stamper in Reston, VA with Donna.  she is a MAZE ing – this was my second class with her and i just LOVE her projects – i learn so many cool things, she has impeccable taste and superb design talent PLUS she is a great teacher AND best of all EVERYTHING is prepped.  nothing i hate more than paying for a class and then spending the whole thing trying to get all my paper cut.  i don’t need to pay for paper cutting time i do enough of that at home!!!!  anyway i got about half way done so i thought i would post some pics to show you this awesome album – it is mixed media meaning the pages are acrylic or chipboard or felt which is way fun to play with!  The whole album uses june bug papers which are bright and fun!

AND i am proud to say i really held myself back in the shopping dept. and only got a few holiday papers and several yards of wax thread -the greatest stuff ever – NO STAMPS – i know HIDEOUS but i am trying to be good.

Back and front of the cover page - clear page pre-printed with the dot border and lines. i LOVE the way donna does her ribbon and the beads are a really cute touch too!

these are pics of pages 2 & 3 back n front. there are flaps on both backs so i took a pic with flaps closed and then open. donna makes all sorts of different paper hinge configuration which i find fascinating! She also does amazing things with tags but i did not get to those pages yet!

Page 4 - the second acrylic page in the book - both sides have cool opening flaps so i took pics again with flaps closed and then open. the neat thing about this book is that it allows you to play with the concept of acrylic where multiple pages have to work together BUT it is not the ENTIRE book! all the flaps and tags are such a cool way to fit more into small albums – maybe not a NEW technique just new TO ME!  i really hope to be able to take her holiday scrapbook in a day in november!

Now to go inform the eldest that he will be watching she-who-has-been-up-since-3:30 while i get some shipping done!

i hope y’all have a wonderful monday!

  1. very cute album so far!

  2. Lovely album. The mixed media is fantastic. The “she who has been up since 3:30 am” totally cracked me up. I’m crossing my fingers that “he who didn’t sleep a wink last night” will nap today.

  3. WOW is all I can say, those are beautiful pages. I wish I could take a class that did pages like that but for family or boy pictures……….. all the classes seem to be geared to feminine pages BUT I can see why- they are beautiful!

  4. Marti this is BEAUTIFUL hun, I love all the pages, and they are perfect!!! How lucky you are to have such wonderful classes to be able to go to:)

    Have a wonderful week !
    Hugs,
    Cheryl
