Sweet Dreamer’s: Word Challenge

blog tag

Ahhhh nothing like the last minute right?  this week’s challenge on the Sweet Dreamer’s blog group was to use words as the focal point.  i don’t do this nearly enough, in fact i rarely even use a sentiment!  but i always love cards done this way so i was thrilled when i read the challenge!  MojoMaria day 2

I used one of this week’s Mojo sketches – Day 2 – but i turned it to fit my stamp and i had the perfect stamp to use too:

Grungeboard is our focus this month in the playgroup and i added the little grungeboard key at the top.  this stuff is so versatile!  i painted it with a paint dabber in willow, ran it thru a cuttlebug embossing folder and then used a foam ink blending pad to LIGHTLY rub the raised portions with versamark.  i dusted some perfect pearls over it and misted with water.  I made my little flower myself and it is sitting on a felt flower.

mojo close upthe sentiment is from a tim holtz set he gave us in class at CHA.  i did the background for it with alcohol inks from the lights collection and a little pearl mixative.

the card is finished off with a glittered skittle embellie on each corner.  this was a fun and fairly quick card to make (as long as your crocheted flower is done ahead of time of course!

I will be trying to get as much done as i can today because i will be gone tomorrow at a class at Angela”s Happy Stamper in Reston, VA – The class is being taught by donna so i KNOW it is going to be beyond awesome – i will sign up for one of her classes without even seeing a sample pic.  sometimes classes are a real risk but at least with donna i KNOW it will be fabulous!
