PDD Friday: Tim Holtz meets Hello Kitty :)

Soooooo for any of you who read yesterdays post about my first attempt IN MY LIFE to exercise i am pretty sure jillian Michaels was sent here to kill me.  i am SO sore. i hurt in places i didn’t even know i HAVE.  Muscles i didn’t even know HOW TO USE hurt!  hubby said no jillian today as we will be walking all over 6 flags tomorrow and apparently he isn’t interested in carrying me……PFFT!  i tried to rub my thighs but my arms hurt too bad to do it…..

ok on to the good stuff:

Today’s PDD Friday post covers this week’s Sweet Dreamers blog challenge for the group i am in on SCS was to create using a grid of some sort.  so i chose my harlequin florals stamp and went all tim holtz-y with some hello kitty – betcha never thought THAT could happen!!!!!!

SD3

i challenged the Playgroup girls to work with grungeboard and grungepaper this month so my card is all about some fun grunge-y goodness.  i started with a cat silhouette from the seasonal grungebaord set and painted her with black soot crackle paint.  then i got my grungepaper together with my fave sizzix die of all time – a hello kitty floral die i got 50% off awhile back at joanns.  i always run out of flourishes before anything else in the elements pack so this fills the bill for me with a cute flower to boot!  after cutting the pieces i inked them up with distress inks – makes a WORLD of difference uder the distress stickles – then covered with distress stickles.  the flourishes have darl ink and lighter stickles and the flower pieces have light ink with darker stickles.  the main flower is covered in distress ink, embossed with a cuttlebug folder and then i ran black soot DI lightly over the raised embossing.

my grid piece is glossy paper, alcohol inks and then i stamped and embossed with black embossing powder – it is all one big background stamp so nothing to it.

We had a blast at the Farm all morning and pezzy is a PRO at picking blackberries!  we didn’t make it to the peaches and green ebans so next time we will try and go earlier!  we DID have a blast playing tho i am exhausted from the hideous heat!

i sure hope our 6 flags has a water park portion!

hugs!

  1. Love all the grungeboard you use, great way to put it all together.

  2. That’s one sexy cat! I’ve just started using Tim Holtz stamps after seeing tutorials at Christina’s Crafts. So far, my daughter and I are loving it!
