Glittering skittles in NEW COLORS!!!!  OH HOW I LOVE THESE!

i thought i might take a minute to catch anyone up on the saga of the skittle in case you were not a part of the shenanigans of last summer!  Catherine – my DT leader and Partner In Crime goes by the name Silly Skittles in the crafting message board world.  last summer Michaels clearanced bags of acrylic half beads in the floral dept and she discovered them along with a few others of us and thought they would work perfectly as a cheap alternative to dew drops.  she began posting about them on the cricut message board and everyone ran out to buy them (as everyone does on the cricut board) and we began going crazy using them as embellishments on everything.  another friend dubbed them skittles in honor of catherine and the name stuck (so much so that a google search will show MOST EVERYONE refers to them as skittles even if they aren’t the original skittles.)  originally these little glorious finds came in only a handful of pale colors and catherine began experimenting with altering them.  next thing we know she has glittered skittles, polka dot skittles, swirly skittles and we began selling them.  then she and i got together and began dyeing them with alcohol inks and opened up a whole new world of uses now that the colors were wider – and so the skittle craze went on with everyone dyeing them and using them in all sorts of ways.  then catherine started drawing them up to look like bugs after seeing someone do some ladybug skittles – and i took it one step further and the skittle bug stamps were born!  however they proved so popular that catherine and i nearly went cross eyed trying to keep up.  i spent the next 6 months trying to find a manufacturer and finally found someone at CHA.  after several months i saw the prototypes and was blown away – better than i had ever imagined!  the one catch – the size did not quite match up and couldn’t match up with the originals so ALL of the skittle bug stams had to be re-made *sigh* – those will arrive the first week of JULY!!!  WOO-HOO!!!  then i asked if i could get some plain colored ones with some sort of shimmer or glitter BUILT IN and glittered skittles were born!  and finally – skittles printed with a matching image from some of my newer stamp sets for a perfectly coordinated embellishment!  the first in this series was the watermelon for my little Buggie Friend – Picnicin’ Bee.  now i am working on adding additional colors – the first 3 colors sold out in less than 2 weeks!  today i am introducing more new colors – we now have TEN!!  (i am missing a pic of the spring green so i will have it up later – sorry!!!)  it includes clear skittles which can be dyed with alcohol inks or colored with bic or copic markers!  we also have Princess Cleo’s fan in stock as well as one for each of the upcoming Picnicin’ Bugs.
