Treasure chests

blog tag

hello all – so sorry for the absence but the good news is that i have been getting out many of the back orders and will continue getting them out over the next couple days.  I have also been working on some more new goodies and stamps for y’all – a little peek at some stuff will be up tomorrow so you REALLY don’t want to miss that!!!

and now on to the fun stuff – i made these little treasure chests awhile back but just had not gotten around to posting them so i thought i would do it today:

and here are a few close ups – each treasure chest comes with a matching card and envelope:

the tops are all done using the same hummingbird stamp

The green set is the smallest one – the embellie and border pieces are all cut from soda cans and colored with alcohol inks:

the copper set is done using techniques from one of my MOST fave mags – Crafts n Things – the pic does NOT do it justice.  the background is shimmering embossing powder and the grungeboard butterflies are covered in perfect pearls so they have some incredible sparkle too!  i also sprayed the card pieces with a copper perfect pearls mist.  for the borders i stamped it and then traced over it in butterscotch dimensional pearls and i really like how it turned out.

if anyone would like me to do a tutorial on that background just let me know!

This is the largest box and again was inspired by a previous issue of Crafts N Things:

the backgrounds here are done with some of the new alcohol inks and i covered the grungeboard hardware with perfect pearls so the shimmer in real life is stunning.

These boxes came in a single pack at Michaels and were a TON of fun to make.  i think i may have to do another set that is little girl princess themed….you know…in all my free time…ROTFLMBO
