christmas…yep, christmas card!

hello everyone!

i hope you are all having a wonderful morning – I am enjoying the ever crisper fall-ish morning we have been having here in northern VA.  oh winter how i love you!  ever since pezza broke my body thermometer during pregnancy i have struggled with always being way too hot.  which is funny because before that i always struggled with being way to cold…

Pezza is still doing well in school and even doing better at home – growing up perhaps?

I spent the afternoon in my newly designed studio playing yesterday – HEAVEN!  and yes i am SO lucky to have a designated spot so large all to myself!  i began by playing with some Pardo Polymer Clay and came up with some adorable little pumpkins for a swap I am in – check them out on Dotted Daisy.

i also did some coloring of course!

i just love the sweet little Fall Flora Fairies in the SCACD shop and i have Friendship Rose done up for Christmas today using the current sketch from my friend Melissa over on Tuesday Morning sketches.  I am also entering it in the following challenges:

Paperplay – Punches & Dies
Frosted Designs – Punches
Card Makin Mamas – Punches

Love that rose dress she is wearing!  I used some gorgeous glittery paper from Best Creations Merry Christmas collection (susana has them in the 6×6 size for us of course!)  I added one of my hand crocheted flowers on a layer of felt from Felt on the Fly with a glittered skittle in the center.  the top also has a few of my Holly printed skittles (i still sell the printed skittles in my store).  I also added my own pearl and glitter flourishes using Liquid Pearls Opal and Stickles Stardust.

I colored my image with Polycolor Colored Pencils.  I wanted to give her wings a bit of shimmer so i got a little Pearl Perfect Pearls and mixed it with water to create a thin paint which I painted on.  That is the thing i love about perfect pearls – it is so incredibly versatile AND has the binder built right in!

my baby Bubba Cat is ALWAYS where ever I am and when I finished work this morning here is where I found him:

REALLY!?!?!?  at first he was laying ON the card but i got it out from under him!  just LOOK at that incredible tail!  it is getting fluffier and fluffier.  Maine Coons don’t tend to be born looking as fluffy as they end up being as adults.  but my little man is fluffing up QUITE nicely!  Maine Coons are one of the greatest breeds of cat you could ever own – I am SO glad we got our little Bubba!

Susana is loading up the store with new goodies all the time – be sure to check back often!  The new Crafts Too folders are incredible!  the new 6×6 christmas pads are JUST the thing for all of those cards you’ll be making and there are new Kraftin’ Kimmies in stock too!
hugs

Say hello to…

a new SCACD artist – the amazing Sylvia Zet has created an adorable line of stamps EXCLUSIVELY for SCACD!  and today is release day so you can see them all and get your order in!

You should have arrived here from Judy’s wonderful blog.  if you stumbled into the hop on accident and want to start at the beginning then head over to Elaine’s amazing blog and get a look at the whole line up along the hop!

I have a card using Poppy:

LOOK at that little face!  and the ladybug just KILLS me – she is so cute!  The papers are from Authentique and I crocheted the beaded flower myself.

I colored her with colored pencils and then added lots of glittering highlights using my spica pens.

Now head over to Mary Johnson’s blog to see her fabulous creation!

Then head to SCACD to get your stamps!  For those of you overseas, head over to Quixotic Paperie to get your order in!

have a great weekend!

so ready for fall!

hi all!
is anyone else ready to be done with summer?  i know i am!  we were even hoping to spend the long weekend working outside in my vegie garden building up the beds BUT now it says rain all weekend.  so instead we have some indoor stuff we have been wanting to do. i also have kitten update – remember we ended up adopting a kitten after hubby couldn’t bear to give him up for adoption.  i will put some pics at the end of the post for those interested!

i colored up another one of the recently released Fall Flora Fairies – Annie Oak Leaf:

i used papers from the My Mind’s Eye All Spice – gorgeous colors in this pad!

i colored her with Colored Pencils – some polycolor and some coloursoft.  i finished off with a viva decor crystal gel flower dusted with perfect pearls and a few glittered skittles.

Susana has been adding new goodies to the store like crazy!!!  be sure to check it all out!

Our kitten has been re-named Bubba Kitty (he was Bandit when he arrived) but i usually call him little man.  i have to tell you he is oh so very super cute and i just ADORE him.  he is packed with personality and quirkiness too  which is one of the things i love about maine coon cats.  he has been learning dog tricks – he LOVES playing fetch and will lay down on command too.  hubby is teaching him how to shake now.  Bubba is in love with our other maine coon, tiger.  he attacks her and she tolerates him.  he will copy whatever she is doing and she will give him a bath if he wants one.

he is also fascinated with water (another maine coon trait).

yes.  that is his water dish.  he will play in ANY water he can find.

silly boy – thought he had found a good place to hide from pezza – not!

i hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
hugs

some digi re-dos!

hi all!

i am so sorry my blogging has become so sparse but as you longtime readers know i had to take pezza out of school last march and she has been home with me every day since – which does not leave me with nearly as much time as i would like to get stuff done BUT i also have so many other things going on with so many different fronts!  which is all good of course!  not to mention i have really been trying to bring a bit more balance into my life between work and family time.  when you work from home it is very hard to “leave work and go home”!  so what all have i been up to?  if you have not checked out the dollhouse blog  Dotted Daisy – you should!  exterior is done and ready for shingles and then it is on to the interior!  I have also begun a room box for a contest at a local dollhouse shop.

the next issue of Through the Craft Room Door will be hitting inboxes soon filled with fun stuff like this for halloween and fall in general:

full project pics and instructions ONLY in the magazine – if you don’t subscribe now is the time!

Want to win some awesome blog candy?  Then be sure to head over to the SCACD store blog!  SCACD also has new goodies in the store – embossing folders that MUST come live with me, jillibean soup 6×6 pads and AMAZING stamps and coordinating dies from Prickly Pear.

what else have i been up to????  i recently had the privilege of working on blog re-dos for two wonderful girls!  i LOVE doing them!

first up – joanne – she won a banner and siggy over on The Outlawz:

head over to her blog and let her know how you like her new look!!!

next up – briana – she got a banner, siggy and background and i think it is all just gorgeous!

stop by her blog to see the full effect and let her know what you think!

i will be spending this week writing all of the magazine articles and doing final placement, etc and then we hope to spend the 3 day weekend on some things around the house.  i’ve got two rooms plus the 2 story foyer i want to paint and raised garden beds i for hubby to install!  hoping to get some fall vegies in!

have a great day!

look what’s new @ SCACD!

hi all!

hooray for friday right?  of course our weekend is looking a bit dicey with the hurricane…i lived in san diego with earthquakes and louisiana with hurricanes – i move to the east coast thinking i have nothing to worry about and i get both in the same week!  awesome.  of course when the earthquake hit i was in the car with a 4 year old throwing one mother of a fit so i felt nothing.  in fact she was probably the epicenter…if i survive this child it will be a miracle.  good thing she’s so cute!

today i get to introduce you to one of the new fairies being released at SCACD!  this is Stargazer:

she has a matching flower too!  i colored her up with colored pencils (YUP sold ALL of my copics!) and then added some Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liner to her wings, shoes and earmuffs.  the paper is from the newly arrived christmas collection of papers by Best Creations – i ADORE their glitter-wonderful papers!  i topped things off with a Make it Crafty flourish painted with lumiere paint and a little white rose brushed with distress ink.

As always – for international folk sthese stamps are available at Quixotic Paperie as well!

Head on over to the SCACD store blog for a list of links to the other DT girls who are previewing these new stamps for SCACD Stamp Co.!  in addition there is another sneak peek of the new Sylvia Zet for SCACD stamps plus a chance to win a set of them!

have a great weekend!

hugs
