AI digis!!! we have another one!

every one all hopped up on candy – YUMMY!!!  we took Pezza around last night of course – she was Lightening McQueen from the Cars movie and she was revving her engine the whole way.  She filled her little black cat treat bag to the brim and made friends at every door.  i swear you would have thought she was running for office.  she would strike up a conversation, hang out, we were constantly saying COME ON PEZZA!

my project uses the sketch from my friend jen’s Sketch For You To Try – she always has the BEST sketches – my top four fave sketches are jen, mojo monday, splitcoast and page maps.

Kristin over at Artful Inkables has decided to do some Digital Staps for the store and today we have a super cute one for november – this is my first snowglobe image!

i LOVE the sparkle of a good snowfall – especially early in the morning before anyone has been out to disturb it!  so i wanted my card to have LOADS of sparkle.  i achieved it with my newest favorite thing (i know how many times can i say that!) – glitter paper by Best Creations – *swoon* – i adore it and i used it on the card base – white sparkle and silver sparkle.  their patterned papers have loads of sparkle too!  i crocheted that little snowflake while at my mom’s to have ready for a card just like this!

i think this little snowglobe scene is very cute!  and i love that i can size it any way i want.  most stamps tend to be too big for my liking so digi’s are good for me!  i gave the snow a good covering of holographic Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  after the glitter dried i covered the whole globe area with a thick coating of Ranger Glossy Accents to give it a nice glassy coating.  i prefer glossy accents because it is thick so it doesn’t run everywhere.  it dries perfectly and completely clear!

my oldest will be here tonight for a visit – we haven’t seen him in a year!!!  so my blog might be neglected yet again!  OR he will be a good brother and entertain his little sis and let mom get some stuff done!

SC303: beauty of fall

hi all!

whew friday!  where did my week go????  i am planning a birthday party for Pezza and hit a bit of a disaster.  we booked a party for her at a local place with a bunch of those big blow up bouncy things.  wellllllll i got back from my mom’s and got an invitation for her at school – one of her friends is having a party at the same time.  well i called to see what times we could change hers too and we are now stuck with a party at 6:30 on a saturday night UGH!  i hate the whole kids bday circuit, it’s just wrought with peril!  i SO hope some kids will come…

ok on to my project for today!

i used this weeks sketch over on Splitcoast:

i used two images from Autumn’s Flowers - a mini set from Artful Inkables (and it’s ON SALE right now!)

the papers are from Basic Grey’s Indian Summer.  i inked the Nestibilities cut out before removing the die.  then i accented with pale yellow viva decor pearl pen.  i love these – i don’t have to worry about how many pearls i add because they last so much longer than the ready made self adhesive pearls!

i colored my images using copics.  i added some Autumn Flower Soft for a bit of dimension.

there are SO MANY fantastic stamp sets at Artful Inkables - if you have not checked them out you should! and rumo rhas it Kristin has something awesome up her sleeve for next month – i for one can’t wait!

Artful Inkables challenge 31:buzzin’ through again

happy wednesday y’all!  i am havin’ lots of fun down at my mom’s.  she lives in south louisiana – and i mean SOUTH louisiana – you can’t get a whole lot more south without being in the gulf!  i LOVE it here – it’s where i grew up plus it’s just plain awesome.  the people are SO friendly, the culture is SO rich, the food, the landscape, the architecture – nothing compares.  i feel quite sure i will end up back here one day

so far the two highlights of my trip:

HOBBY LOBBY!!!!!  *squeal* i had no IDEA it was so incredible.  my momma took me on a huge shopping spree in there – she spoils me big time i have to admit – and i LOVE IT!!!)  i found lots of great stuff including alot of things i have been searching for, some for years, and never found anywhere else.  i also got some GREAT ideas for some projects i will be jumping into when i get home!  of course Pezza got a shopping spree too and she was thrilled.  then we had lunch at the Olive Garden – YUMMY!!!  THANKS MOMMA!!!

second highlight – bringing Pezza over for a little reunion with Brett next door and getting to see Gemi and the other kids again.  they live next door in the plantation house that my family built about 200+ years ago.  LOVE that place and love all the things she has done with it and the resoration and ways she has improved it.  her youngest son brett is just a few weeks older than hollyn and they ADORE each other.  gemi, my mom and i are already talking arranged marriage LMBO!  they play together so well and brett is so so sweet to her.  the grounds are heaven over there.  they have a portion in the back that operates as a wildlife preserve for injured or abandoned deer so there are 8 in there now and they run right up to the fence to see ya!  so pez was feeding them right out of her hand!  they have a baby goat that was hilarious too.  brett is so sweet with pez and helps her and takes care of her.  when they were giving us a ride back to my mom’s in the golf cart pez had her head in his lap and he had his arm around.  then after he told his momma he loves pez’s voice because it’s so adorable!  AWWWWW!!!

ok down to business here!!!

Today is Artful Inkables day!  The current challenge was given to us by one of the customers.  We were to use embossing of any type, flowers and had an option for lace.  here is what i came up with for this one:

i have been wanting to use this adorable bee cuttlebeg embossing folder since i got it and so it was my jumping off point here.  i got my colors from the strip of Close To My Heart patterned paper i had in my scrap heap.  i crocheted the flower myself and i do think it’s a bit lacy but that might be stretching it a bit!  i used one of my own printed skittles for the center and some sparkly blue pezabling for accent – both are available in my store!

The adorable little bee is from one of my fave AI sets – Spot On Summer - a bunch of cute little images with spaces for button accents like the yellow button here.  the wings got a quick coat of Pink Highlights Creative Inspirations Paint for some yummy sparkle.  now head on over to the Artful Inkables blog to see the challenge and join us!  you could win a 10% off coupon for AI AND host an upcoming challenge!  if you use an Artful Inkables stamp in the challenge you get TWO chances to win!!!

an Artful ATC challenge

hi everyone!

OH what a day!  for starters i am MISERABLE with allergy/sinus crud and a WEE bit cranky   then i take hollyn to school for her field trip and find out when i get there that i have to DRIVE her to the field trip and home and so basically go on the trip with her.  so there went my whole morning’s worth of work time   but i thought hey i will run home, grab my camera and get some great pics of her with her class.  i come home to grab it real quick and can’t find it ANYWHERE even tho i had JUST used it to take pictures of trev in his toga for toga day today (yes i had already done a toga this morning.)  so we head off to the pumpkin farm field trip, get on the hay ride (which was one of the best i have been one) and i mention to the teacher how i can’t find my camera.  hollyn starts saying sorry sorry momma.  turns out she hid it in a box. a third of the way thru the hay ride hollyn gets stung badly by a bee on her hand.  so she is SCREAMING in pain for the rest of the way while i am feeling SO helpless and upset i can’t do anything for her.  we get back and get some mustard for it which fixes her right up thank goodness (always carry mustard packs in your purse folks).  i am happy to report the rest of the field trip went off without a hitch.  they had a fantastic corn maze and then we headed to the pumpkin patch – she decided she wanted the biggest pumpkin possible and how can you say no to a child recently traumatized by a bee, so she came home the proud new owner of a 34 pound pumpkin!

and just to make sure my day turned around there was 28 pounds of provo craft goodness waiting for me on my front porch – my imagine has finally arrived!  so now i have TWO fanTABulous gizmos begging for attention and no idea how i am going to squeeze out time for them before i leave for my mom’s on monday!  hhhmmmmm do i REALLY need to participate in that tag sale tomorrow???  i SO want to play!

The current challenge over on the Artful Inkables blog is ATCs.  I just got this super cute fall mini set called Autumn’s Flower (on sale right now):

i have to be honest i have not done too many ATCs (not sure if i have done any actually).  so i thought of this set immediately because it would work so well size-wise.

 

I picked this gorgeous SEI fall paper from my scrap basket along with a deep chocolate base.  i inked and then distressed the edges.  next i used Marvey markers directly on my stamp and then stamped it onto glossy paper – this really makes the image stand out.  as a finishing touch i added a strip of Earth Elements by Art Institute Glitter – love this stuff!!!  you can really see the natural texture it gives to your project.

and now i am off to make a quick dinner (thank you Dinner Diva Girls!) and we are heading to an Upper Loudoun Youth Football League game to see my friend Heather’s daughter (4 years old) cheer and see what pezza thinks about it.  then i hand her off to her dad and head to my friend Stacey’s house for an SU tech club get together!  fun fun!

Artful Inkables has big news!!!

hi everyone!!!

Quick post for ya today but it’s a good one!  (Seems the one i scheduled last night had some sort of fatal error )  Artful Inkables is back better than ever and has some BIG news – they are going digital!!!!  and to kick things off we’re having a hop!  Kristin created an adorable fall set of digi images to play with called Harvest Crow:

i LOVE stamps in sets so i can create coordinated projects easily.  the little basket of apples is ready to play with too – perhaps on top of a gift box to go with the card…???

these are fun and easy to color which i like!  Digis are so fun to work with too because i have total control over size.  i simply insert the images into a word document and then size them and print them out.  for the set i inserted it three times and then cropped each one so i had one of each image that i could re-size independently and i could put enough space between them to be sure i could cut them easily with my nesties.

and here is the adorable little crow.  who knew crows could be so cute?!!?!?

and now i am off to call my doc and beg for them to see trevor asap.  he not only has mono (diagnosed monday) but he woke up this morning with the worst case of hives i think i have ever seen – and that was WITH benadryl last night….this will be the 5th doctor’s office visit i have done in like 8 days or something ridiculous!
