SCACD TIOT: bubble fun

hellooooooooooo!

nearly the weekend WOOHOO!  i have no idea what we are doing this weekend but i am hoping it involves finally finishing the butterfly garden on the side of the house!  and one last load of mulch!

i had a bunch of fun chatting with some of the girls first on the magazine website Through the Craft Room Door and then later over on the Color Me Creative copic website for Suzanne’s classes.  what a fun bunch!  my Cricut classes over there will be getting underway very soon!

tomorrow my oldest, Drake, is stopping in for a visit on their way to move to new hampshire from south carolina – that boy is nuts!  no plan – well they have a what they think is a plan – you know the carefree barely past teenagers type of a plan which is vastly different from the i have seen and done it all and now i know better type of plan I would make but……  ahhh to be young!  i was really hoping they (i will be meeting this girlfriend of his – only girlfriend he has ever had) would be staying a few days but they have friends helping that are on a time schedule.  pezza will NOT be happy at the shortness of the visit.  drake worked hard at being her favorite when he lived here.  he will be taking his car with him which trevor has been using all this time so trev isn’t thrilled.  guess the hated car shopping will begin – ICK!  the worst part of it is mediating between the two – hubby and trevor! hha haha

this morning we are off to the dentist.  i have a feeling i will not be getting off easy like i usually do this time.  i have rarely ever had a cavity but i have one tooth that seems a bit iffy lately……we’ll see

my TIOT project was lots of fun this week!  In addition to TIOT i also used the following challenges for inspiration:

Splitcoast: Sketch challenge
Papertake Weekly: Shiny/Sparkly

and here is my card:

i used Bubbles from the most recent Elisabeth Bell release – how seriously cute is this?!?!?!? LOVE that sweet little face! my layout for this card comes from the Splitcoast sketch challenge yesterday real goodie this week! i used basic grey papers – though my pads have split apart and now i don’t know which is which for these EEK! Susana just got a bunch of new 6×6 pads in – basic grey, kaisercraft and 7 gypsies – some seriously YUMMY paper and i LOVE the 6×6 size – makes it so much easier to collect them all KWIM!!! ok back to the card at hand! before i began i gave the two patterned papers a good misting with Smooch Vanilla Breeze shimmering mist to give them some amazing shimmer without altering the look of the pattern at all. this is one of my favorite techniques! my perfect little double loop bow was easy to do with my bow easy!  the embellies are from Webster’s Pages and are called sparklers and WOW i love them!!!  i will be looking into Webster’s Pages further!  these were a gift from Susana.

I stamped this little cutie with black memento ink and colored her with copics. then i cut her out and covered her little bubbles in Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liner – i am STILL amazed by the sparkle in these. i cut her out to layer her over all of the smaller layers in my card.

i made the little swirls free hand with some Viva Decor pens – i used ice white and light blue pearl pens and holographic glitter liner. these are actually pretty easy to do – keep the droplets close so you can see the pattern. in this case they alternate between ice white and the other two but you can do them all in one color too!
if you have not yet checked out these new elisabeth bell images you should – probably her best set yet!!!

have a great day!
