ahhhhhh finally OK to be completely on the subject of CHRISTMAS!!!!! Black Friday shopping is really what gets my christmas motor going. so i made Trev drag all the tubs of Christmas decorations up and i hope to get it all done this weekend. of course hubby decided to fix all the drywall issues in the boys bathroom this weekend too so i will be doing the painting in there when it’s done so we’ll see how far i get! i do FINALLY have a project to share today too!

i used the gorgeous little candle nestie frame stamp my mom designed for me but a totally different technique for it:
for this card i used the SCS color challenge CC246: pretty in pink, old olive, bermuda bay & neutrals – odd i thought but i LOVE how it turned out! i decided i needed lots of neutral and then hints of the other colors. i used Very Vanilla and ran it through the Swiss Dots CB embossing folder. then i edged the pieces in Versamagic Spanish Olive with my foam blending tool. i also ran the foam very lightly over the embossing. i used my fave ek success edge punch on the bermuda bay paper, and found some green ribbon in my stash that was a close match along with a polymer clay embellie from my collection.
i just happened to have this piece of paper i had done up with pink & silver alcohol inks sitting on my table and thought it was a great match for the color combo. so instead of doing the usual stamp and color i stamped with versamark and used some detail silver embossing powder. the embossed *joy* image in the center is a studio G of course (love those things – the most useful stamps in my collection i must say!)
it mad for a simple and quick card to put together! i tried regular white embossing powder but it really needed to be DETAILED powder, which i don’t have in white ACK! might need to remedy that…….
so what do y’all think??
anyone else doing their decorating this weekend???? if so have fun!
